Frequently Asked Questions

I noticed you accept donations. Where does the money go?

Forward Libraries is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and we use the money we receive from donations and membership fees to support our programs. This includes regular operating expenses, as well as payments for outside speakers we bring to our events. It also includes supporting membership to the League for library workers who might need a little help affording to be part of a professional organization.

Is this the League of Awesome Librarians?

Kind of! The League of Awesome Librarians (LOAL) is one of Forward Libraries' initiatives.

I thought the League of Awesome Librarians was part of the Library Collective. What gives?

The League of Awesome Librarians was started in 2019 by a group of volunteers who had been part of the Library Collective. The League separated from the Library Collective in 2021. In 2022, the League became an initiative of Forward Libraries.

Are you on social media?
